LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was mixed against most other major currencies in European trading Friday. Gold rose.
The euro was quoted at $1.1932, up from $1.1893 late Thursday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
_ 118.35 Japanese yen, up from 117.74
_ 1.3095 Swiss francs, down from 1.3105
_ 1.1508 Canadian dollars, down from 1.1573
The British pound was quoted at $1.7412 up from $1.7362.
Gold dealers in London fixed a recommended price of $552.4 bid per troy ounce, up from $540.80 late Thursday.
In Zurich, the bid price was $553.90, down from $539.30.
Gold rose $4.70 in Hong Kong to $544.70.
Silver closed in London at $9.43 bid per troy ounce, up from $9.25. |
