SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - South Korea has replaced its top envoy to international negotiations on North Korea's nuclear programs.
The Foreign Ministry says Kim Sook has been appointed to succeed Chun Yung-woo as chief negotiator to the six-nation talks, which also include the U.S., North Korea, China, Japan and Russia.
The 55-year-old Kim is a veteran diplomat who served in posts mostly related to U.S. relations.
Ministry spokesman Moon Tae-young says the replacement is part of a routine reshuffle.
The nuclear talks have been stalled for months over disagreements on whether Pyongyang has fulfilled its pledge to give a declaration of its nuclear programs. |
