PARIS (AP) - French sports daily L'Equipe says German cyclist Stefan Schumacher tested positive for a banned substance during the Tour de France.
The newspaper said on its Web site Monday that Schumacher tested positive for CERA, an advanced version of the blood-boosting hormone EPO.
Schumacher won both individual time trials at the Tour and held the race lead for two days.
The French anti-doping lab has been retesting samples from the Tour to look for traces of CERA.
Pierre Bordry, head of the French anti-doping agency, said he could not confirm the report. |
