US dollar mixed, gold down in afternoon trading

LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Monday afternoon. Gold fell.

The euro traded at $1.2625, down from $1.2708 late Friday in New York.

Other dollar rates:

_93.64 Japanese yen, down from 95.65

_1.2076 Swiss francs, down from 1.2133

_1.2400 Canadian dollars, up from 1.2386

The British pound was quoted at $1.4825, down from $1.5412.

Gold traded in London at $778.00 per troy ounce, down from US$814.50 late Friday.
